Tusk promotes the conservation of all African wildlife and particularly the protection of endangered species. The charity's holistic approach to conservation also recognises that the long-term future for Africa's natural heritage depends as much on sustainable human development as traditional protection measures. Tusk supports over 30 different conservation projects across 15 African countries.
At the end of 2005 Prince William announced his Royal Patronage to the charity.
